Included in the early slate for Roses Friday play was a matchup between AEBL Girlz 16U P24 and Tulsa JYD Gold 2028. Anyone who was watched Marshall's play with Westside – last season's 4A state runners-up – can tell that she certainly deserves to play up in class. At 5-foot-9, she certainly provides plenty of height and that is complimented with versatility as she is willing to play at a variety of different spots on the court. She has more experience than the average freshman given she already has two seasons of varsity experience under her belt. Marshall averaged 10.8 points, 5.6 rebounds. 3.9 assists and 3.5 steals last season for the Rams.

Evans and Marshall have something in common – both 2029s that deservedly are playing up in class. With the number of Division I offers Evans has already received heading into her freshman season at 5A Division 1 Byrnes, one had to believe she was on the list of prospects to watch for many a collegiate coach or scout at Roses. When watching her play, one would not think she is merely a 2029. While Evans can establish herself with the ball on the perimeter, she understands when to shoot and when to attack the rim – as well as having a knack for when to score and when to pass. The two-sport athlete (soccer) averaged 14 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.4 steals as an eighth grader for the Rebels.

The early morning schedule for Roses Friday included Foley's FBC United Reign 2027 GUAA team matchup up against SA Hoops Elite 16U E40 out of Texas. She made her presence known at all times her sneakers made contact with the court. Foley played effective perimeter defense and was consistent in having opportunities to convert on old-fashioned 3-point plays. Rebounding is another strong element in the talented junior's game. Three weeks ago, Foley landed her first collegiate offer from Flagler of the Peach Belt Conference and is poised for another stellar season wearing the colors of 5A Division 1 Ashley Ridge.

One would be hard-pressed to find a more accurate sharpshooter across the state than the senior at Legacy Early College. The early part of the afternoon of Roses Friday saw her [program_tooltip program_id='715414' first='SC' last='Lady Sixers'] 2026 National assembling match up against Southern Squad UA Rise 2026 out of West Virginia. Anyone with a scouting report on Buff knows they have to contain her from behind the arc – and they still cannot contain her even when the 3-point attempts are from NCAA or WNBA range. Her 5-foot-9 stature makes her taller than one's average two guard as well. One can assume a few of the collegiate coaches and scouts on hand were in search of formidable deep threats. Hopefully they had Buff – and [program_tooltip program_id='715414' first='SC' last='Lady Sixers'] - on their teams to scout list.

Those collegiate coaches also had to be impressed with what they saw from Wallace. The veteran point guard will be entering her senior season with 5A Division 1 Dorman. She is a fearless and ferocious attacker of the rim and can get crafty with how she gets those two points at the cup. Those finishes can lead to contact being drawn and trips to the free throw line ensuing. Wallace is also one of the more efficient rebounders among guards and she has a knack for making the right passes at the right times. En route to a 20-8 record last season with the Cavaliers, Wallace averaged 12.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.7 steals in 26 contests last season.

Riverside's loss is set to be North Myrtle Beach's gain in 2025-26. Following a career with the Warriors where she claimed state hardware two seasons ago, Powell will spend her final go-round through the high school ranks sporting Chiefs blue and gold. One may not find plenty of flash to her game but will spot plenty of fundamental soundness. A 5-foot-10 four forward, she plays effective interior defense which includes the ability to come away with plenty of rebounds. Her shot blocking has also improved over the years – as have other aspects to her game. Powell is a double-double threat on a game-by-game basis – she averaged 11.8 points, 10 rebounds and 2.3 steals last season at Riverside.

Since Floyd's 1 On 1 SC 2028 Dagostino team was a bit more affected by travel than its Indiana Pride Aspire 15U stone opponent at the midpoint of that afternoon, her team had a tough task on its hands. That task was made a bit less tough due to the play of the standout sophomore from 5A Division 1 Carolina Forest. She was a sixth woman last season for the Panthers who added depth to their frontcourt. One can count on plenty of high-percentage buckets and plenty of rebounding when she is on the floor. She averaged six points, 5.6 boards and a steal per game last season with Carolina Forest and those numbers will certainly improve as she garners more playing time.

We spotlighted one prospect from 5A Division 2 North Myrtle Beach earlier in Powell. As Roses Friday reached its evening hours, Vereen, proudly sporting the green and white SC Future 16U uniform, let Shooters United 16U National out of Texas know exactly why she is another prospect held in high regard. When Vereen has the ball in her hands, her speed and ball handling capabilities make her difficult to contain. Vereen's heads-up play enables her to come away with many a steal. She plays effectively in the interior on both ends of the floor while also thriving as a point guard. Versatile, veteran and very skilled, Vereen averaged 13.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.8 steals and 4.2 assists last season for the Chiefs who concluded the 2024-25 season as Lower State finalists in 5A Division 2.

Reyes' 4A Hartsville team may not have had the season last year that Red Foxes fans have become accustomed to but that was not because of a lack of effort on her part. She particularly stood out on Friday when her SC Future 16U team was matched up against Shooters United 16U – a Texas-based grassroots assembling. As a two guard, one would expect Reyes to have the shooting ability to match her primary position – and she displayed that on Friday evening at Roses. Reyes averaged 12.5 points last season for the Red Foxes in the 21 games that she competed in.

For much of the last several seasons, Military Magnet has been the team to beat in the 1A ranks. With eighth grade talents such as Brown that display why they can match up against sophomores, the Eagles will remain in the contenders' chat. How Brown fuses together speed and quickness with ball-handling capabilities will throw even seasoned veteran defenders off balance. Brown also blends together skills of a point guard – such as the ability to organize an offense in a half court set – with those of a two guard – such as accuracy from behind the arc. She averaged 7.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 steals as a seventh grader for a Military Magnet team that once again was crowned 1A state champions.

[program_tooltip program_id='988463' first='Mosch' last='Ball'] was matched up against Always 100 Gold Select Icon 2028 in the latter portion of play at Roses Friday. Making plays in the transition game is another positive element to her game as is coming away with steals as a skilled defender. Marsaa first played at the varsity level with the Green Wave two years ago as an eighth grader.
