PGH Freshman Showcase: Team 4 Evaluations

The 2029 Freshman Showcase was loaded, with 93 prospects taking the court on August 30th, 2025. Our format included 4 hours of games split up into predetermined 3v3 and 5v5 matchups. Let's talk about media exposure. There have been thousands of views on X of coverage provided by our scouts during the event, and our written articles will be read by hundreds. Every participant will receive a write-up in our articles, which is something unique and special about the Prep Girls Hoops showcases. My coverage focused primarily on teams 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. Here are a few highlights for each player from Team 4 below!    Chandler came out confident right from the get-go. She was electric during 3v3. Chandler showed her outside range, burying a triple up top, and powered through contact to score an and-one layup going full-speed to the basket. Her team-oriented style was a difference maker for Team 4 at the Freshman Showcase. She was an excellent facilitator, dishing an excellent entry pass and strong skip to teammates for assists. Chandler handled the ball with confidence and drove hard to the basket for a layup. Her skills and positive energy are going to be a great addition to the Powers Catholic program this winter.     Symone contributed in many areas for Team 4 at the Freshman Showcase. She chased down a ball-handler from behind to create a steal and crashed the boards hard to grab an offensive rebound. Symone showed her outside range by burying a confident triple from the slot off the catch. She made an unselfish extra pass in transition to an open teammate for the assist. Symone has athleticism and versatility that will make her an impactful addition to the Holt basketball program.     Ella fit right in with Team 4 at the Freshman Showcase. She worked hard on defense and moved her feet to prevent her girl from driving to the basket. Ella shot the ball with balanced feet and confidence from three-point distance. She made a strong overhead entry pass to a cutting teammate during 3v3 for an assist and is going to be a great addition to the Woodhaven program this winter.     Addy was a sparkplug for Team 4 at the Freshman Showcase. Her all-out hustle to pursue rebounds energized the team and created extra possessions. She tied up unaware ball-handlers on defense and dished smart kick-out passes to open teammates. Addy was an impact player in every category, and her relentless effort was impressive to watch. Addy is going to be an outstanding addition to the Spring Lake program.     Maizee was a standout player at SkillCase last week, and she had a solid day for Team 4 at the Freshman Showcase. She's radiating confidence on the court and looks ready to make an immediate impact at Davison this winter. Maizee was active on both sides of the ball. She grabbed a steal and sprinted in from the perimeter to secure a rebound. Maizee used a quick sweep move to get by her defender and buried the elbow jumper with smooth shooting mechanics. She set the standard for positive energy, celebrating teammates, fully engaged on the bench, and communicating constantly on the court.     Cydney is a dynamic guard with athleticism and skills that left a great first impression at the Freshman Showcase. She dangled the ball like a yo-yo, creating separation with effective jab steps and shifty crossover dribbles. Cydney was active on the glass, securing many rebounds, and showed a shooter's touch on the perimeter. She buried two smooth three-pointers in the slot with balanced feet and demonstrated excellent defensive awareness. Cydney anticipated a lazy pass, grabbed the ball, pushed it with both hands the other way, and finished the breakaway layup off two feet. She had a solid day for Team 4, and we hope to see her back next year.     Kamara started the day off right during the 3v3 segment. She grabbed an aggressive offensive rebound to score a put-back, then backed down her defender to score a strong and-one layup. Kamara continued to contribute during 5v5 games for Team 4. She crashed the boards hard to secure an offensive rebound and finished the put-back. Kamara showed athleticism, physicality, and a competitive edge at the Freshman Showcase--she's going to be an exciting addition to the Clare program this winter.     Logyn has consistently been one of the best prospects in the gym at elite camps and travel tournaments all summer--that was the case again at the Freshman Showcase. She started the day strong with her active defense, rebounding, finishing, and shooting during 3v3, which continued during 5v5 with Team 4. Logyn chased down rebounds, dished out assists, made the effort plays, pushed the tempo in transition, finished tough shots around the basket, and drained three-pointers. She had another strong day in the gym that had spectators saying, "Who's that girl?"     Taryn was expected to be one of the best posts in the gym, and she did not disappoint, delivering a memorable performance at The Freshman Showcase. During 3v3, Taryn finished shots around the rim at will and physically dominated opponents on the glass. That continued with Team 4 during the 5v5 games. Taryn swatted shots away and deflected entry passes on the defensive end. She secured many rebounds on both ends of the court, presented a target for entry passes, and used excellent footwork to score contested shots in the paint. Taryn finished many offensive rebound put-backs and was chosen as my Freshman Showcase MVP.
