PGH x Foster Swift Sports Player of the Week (Jan. 4th-10th)

The Prep Girls Hoops x Foster Swift Sports Player of the Week Award is given to one student-athlete who demonstrates excellence during a week of her team's competition. The winner contributes to her team's success in multiple statistical categories, which leads to team success on the court. Selecting one girl to recognize as Player of the Week was a true challenge, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Several players made a strong case, but one standout became the clear choice for this week's award. Those who had a dominant week worthy of consideration have been included in the article as Honorable Mention. Here are the girls who had an outstanding week five. It's time to celebrate their accomplishments!   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Prep Girls Hoops x Foster Swift Sports Player of the Week</h2>    Reagan had a phenomenal week for the Soldiers, helping them win out by contributing mightily in every category. She started with a healthy stat line of 18 points, nine rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks in a 61-51 win at Plymouth Christian. Reagan poured in 22 points with nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals in a 59-33 win vs. Peck. She finished the week with another 22 points with nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals in a 47-44 victory at Ypsilanti Arbor Prep. You don't see guards grab nine rebounds often, and Reagan did that in all three contests. She ended the week with 62 points, 27 rebounds, 13 assists, seven steals, two blocks, and a 3-0 record. Reagan is Michigan's PGH x Foster Swift Sports Player of the Week for Jan. 4th-10th.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Player of the Week Honorable Mention</h2>    Gabby's high school career is off to an impressive start, and she put up three straight double-doubles for Buchanan last week. Gabby scored 23 points with 18 rebounds and four blocks in a narrow 48-50 defeat against St. Joseph. She followed with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and six blocks in a 64-31 victory at St. Joseph Michigan Lutheran. Gabby scored 18 points, secured 16 rebounds, and blocked three shots in a 57-39 win at Dowagiac. She ended the week with a dominant 63 points, 47 rebounds, and 13 blocks. She's providing plenty of evidence to support her top ten ranking early in the season.     Nylah recorded her first career triple-double last week during Fraser's 54-42 win at Grosse Pointe South. She scored 16 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, and blocked 10 shots. With her size, strength, high motor, athleticism, and skill, this won't be the last triple-double of Nylah's career.     Avery had a productive week for Haslett, and she stepped up in their toughest test. Avery poured in 22 points with four rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and one assist during a 62-56 win at Frankenmuth. She averaged 12 points, three rebounds, two deflections, 1.5 steals, and one block per game as the Vikings went 3-0.     Lily started the week with a juggernaut performance for Vestaburg in a commanding victory. She unleashed her full arsenal for 40 points (5/5 FT), seven assists, five steals, four rebounds, and four blocks in an 80-41 win vs. Baldwin. She followed with another huge offensive display with 30 points in a 53-12 win vs. Carson-City Crystal.     Kinley came through in the clutch for the Sailors in their biggest game of the season, pouring in three big triples. She gave South Christian 17 points, eight rebounds, and a steal in a statement 73-62 win vs. #5 Grand Rapids West Catholic to keep their perfect record intact. The win establishes South Christian as the leader in the D2 clubhouse.     Addison gave Wayland a determined double-double performance during a 55-39 statement win against Wyoming. Her 22 points and 12 rebounds were a key factor in the victory.     Lilly received honors as Portland High School's December Athlete of the Month, averaging 16.5 points, 4.2 steals, 3.8 rebounds, and three assists per game. New year, same result for Lilly and the Raiders. She scored 16 points in a 65-7 win at Lakewood and added 24 points with a school record six threes during a 79-28 win vs. Lansing Catholic. Lilly ended the week with 40 points (77.8% 3PT%) and shot an efficient 63% from the field (15-24) in 32 minutes. She grabbed eight rebounds, dished out seven assists, and swiped four steals.     Kaitlyn set a new school record for threes made in a game during a 75-61 South Lyon East win vs. Macomb Dakota. She shredded the nets with 10 three-pointers and 30 points.     Sienna reached an important career milestone this week during a 65-39 victory against Midland. She knocked down her 100th career three-pointer (37% 3PT%) and has made the 4th most three-pointers in program history.
