Virginia's rising sophomores are constantly making a statement and are looking to continue so as they head into the summer months. There are many who have caught people's attention early in their high school careers and have made even more noise the first half of club season. The Class of 2029 have proved to be ones to watch this summer. Here are the first 20 players to keep an eye on.    Scruggs thrives in transition. She's active on defense, ready to collect a steal and go. She has great anticipation and showcases her athleticism and speed as she handles the ball to the rim for a fast break layup. She is constantly in the mix defensively, goes for loose balls and dives in to pick passes.     Andrews knows how to score and is among one of the top in her class. She is a true three-level scorer who can knock down perimeter shots, attack open lanes, and create offense under pressure. She is also active on defense, moving laterally, pressuring opposing guards, and playing with composure on both ends.     Norman is a floor general who knows how to score. She handles the ball on the perimeter and looks for opportunities to attack effectively. She stays composed under pressure, gets bumped and manages to facilitate as she finds open teammates in the halfcourt. She competes in transition too, collecting steals and turning defense into offense with her crafty takes.     Brianna brings energy to both ends of the floor. She has fast handles in transition as she takes it all the way to the rim with opponents surrounding her. She can knock down threes and knows how to slow it down in transition to pull up for a short jumper. She makes smart decisions and has a high IQ, whether she's passing or defending.     Brown is s a two-way player who impacts every aspect of the game. She scores efficiently at all three levels, controls the tempo, and creates opportunities for herself and her teammates. She shows versatility as she embraces any role defensively or offensively, proving why she holds multiple D1 offers.     Newby is among the top rebounders on the EYBL circuit. She thrives in transition, attacks the rim, and impacts the game as a scorer and facilitator while using her athleticism, length, and physical presence to dominate the glass and protect the paint. She shows her high activity on both ends of the floor.     Willis has a nice combination of size, athleticism, and shooting. She has a high IQ and scores at all three levels with the ability to defend multiple positions, showing her impact on both ends of the floor. She is a versatile player who will continue to trend upward as her playing experience grows.     Criss handles the ball patiently on the perimeter as she reads the defense before attacking the paint. She will cross over and go between the legs to create separation as she takes her defender to the rim. She's strong on her drives and knows how to draw fouls with her positioning. She'll knock down threes too.     Babb is an explosive and confident guard with relentless energy. She creates offense, has elite handles, pace, and shot-making ability to score at all three levels. She impacts both ends with her disruptive defense and ability to turn steals into transition offense, making her an all-around playmaker.     Corbin plays with a maturity beyond what you would expect from a freshman. She impacts the game in multiple ways with her physicality, skill set, and ability to contribute across all five positions. Her versatility and overall presence make her one of the top prospects in the 2029 class.     Dallas has the size, rebounding ability, and offensive skill set as a strong interior player. She establishes position well in the paint and uses solid footwork and touch around the rim. She shows versatility defensively as she steps out on the perimeter when needed.     Worsham is a post player with size, physicality, and a relentless motor. She impacts the game on both ends by controlling the glass, protecting the paint, and running the floor hard while finishing around the basket. Her rebounding and interior presence make her one to continue watching on the 3SSB circuit.     Ginger brings power to the interior as a fundamental post player with contributions on both ends. She finishes through contact, controls the boards with her strength and size, and shows versatility when she steps out for a midrange jumper or a three. Ginger is a true two-way player with great footwork and defensive physicality.     Coleman makes her presence known as she creates opportunities to score around the rim. She calls for the ball, positions herself well, and keeps the ball high. She knows her role and executes it accordingly, using her body to get around defenders and receive the ball as she faces the basket to score.     McEldon may have the size of a post player, but she handles the ball like a guard, making her a matchup nightmare. She'll bring the ball up in transition and facilitate as she showcases her composure and footwork against pressure. She'll knock down threes in addition to making herself known on the glass.     Curry has the length and handles, which she takes advantage of as she attacks and splits defenders in congested areas. Her ability to get to the rim and score against pressure and contact is top-notch. She knows how to protect the ball and maneuver accordingly so she can finish and draw fouls.     Hawks runs the floor well in transition, getting ahead of the ball so she can receive it for a fast break layup. She's strong on the boards too and looks for second chance opportunities as she collects weakside rebounds and attacks for a putback. She does the little things extremely well and is always competing.     Thomas is a versatile player who impacts the game in multiple ways with her all-around play. She contributes as a scorer, rebounder, and defender. Her length and movement defensively allow her to disrupt shots, force turnovers, and compete against anyone on the floor.     Sky has the length and mobility to score effectively on offense. She'll attack from the perimeter and find gaps to finish in the paint. She can run the floor in transition and gets ahead of the ball so she can lay it in. She knows how to split defenders and will get bumped but uses moves to get around and convert.     Youngblood is a shifty guard who can handle the ball, pass, and score. She'll maintain her dribble to get by defenders as she reads the floor and creates space to attack. She can finish against pressure whether she's handling in transition or making her way to the paint in a halfcourt set.
