Mercy gets the victory 66-53.
Below are my impact players from that game.
Leah Macy Leah Macy 6'3" | PF Bethlehem | 2025 State KY is the #2 ranked player in a 2025 class loaded with talent and potential Division-I prospects. Macy was completely dominant is this game she put up a double-double scoring 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds along with 3 steals. Macy imposed her will on both ends of the floor. On defense her presence alone made it hard to score in the paint her length and excellent anticipation made it easy for her to alter and block shots. Macy was so good at denying the post entry pass by using her size and strength. On offense she could not be stopped. She used her elite post moves to score at the rim or face up for a short jumper. Her ability to rebound at such a high level is what separates her form the rest. She was relentless crashing the boards her effort allowed her to rack up a lot off points from put backs alone. Macy is very athletic and she runs the floor so well for a big she often got rewarded with layups in transition.
Alyssa Murphy Alyssa Murphy 5'5" | PG Corydon Central | 2025 State IN is a super skilled point guard with a score first mentality. She is a bucket getter and her ability to create her own shot is next level. Murphy is most effective with the ball in her hand she used her quickness and elite ball handling skills to get past defenders to score at the rim or to create space for a pull up jumper. She finished with 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Her production on the court will be vital to the Jags success this season.
Highlights
Keziah Renee is an exciting young talent with loads of potential. She was very consistent on offense every time she had a chance to score she made the most of it. Renee thrived off of points in transition she ran the floor so well always making herself available to score at the rim. Her long range shooting ability impressed me as well she hit multiple shots from deep including a clutch three with one minute left on the clock it was an absolute dagger. Renee finished with 10 points and she had several rebounds as well.
The University of Cincinnati commit and #1 power forward in Kentucky Brianna Byars Brianna Byars 5'11" | PF George Rogers Clark | 2023 State KY played outstanding at the Hoops4Harvest. Byars played with a high motor the entire game her energy level could not be matched. She is a bruiser in the low post that embraces contact and physicality. I was very impressed with her ability to pass the ball for a big she dished out several assist throughout the game really getting her teammates involved. Byars ended the game with 17 points leading GRC in scoring and rebounds.
Ciara Byars Ciara Byars 6'2" | CG George Rogers Clark | 2025 State KY is an extremely versatile player that can score from the perimeter as well as the low post. She thrives off competition and she gives maximum effort on both ends of the court. Her defensive play was so impressive she used her length and great anticipation to block shots from the perimeter and in the paint. Byars made a living off of hustle plays getting steals and going coast to coast scoring fast break layups the other way. She rebounded at very high level as well getting a lot her points from put backs at the rim. Byars finished with 14 points while grabbing a ton of boards.

Anaya Chestnut Anaya Chestnut 5'7" | CG George Rogers Clark | 2026 State KY is a fearless competitor in such a big game early in the season she never backed down or froze in the moment. Chestnut is an elite on-ball defender her perimeter defense is some of the best you will see in the 10th region. She smothered ball handlers applying immense ball pressure really making it hard for them to be effective. With her ability to shoot from three combined with her being a lockdown defender Chestnut will become a 3 and D type of prospect.
