As I have mentioned in the past, this fall the State of Nebraska will get a rankings update. This update will be the first in a few years on the girls side. With that being said, there are a few things I want everyone to take into consideration while looking over the rankings for this state specifically. Below I am going to explain those things, as well as touch on the process of rankings the prospects in general a little bit and naming some of the prospects you'll see added this fall.

Nebraska Rankings Specifically: When it has to do with these rankings, since there hasn't been movement in a few years, there are going to be some big changes. In most states when you have a set of ranking updates, you might not necessarily have a lot of change in what # a player is ranked between those updates. In this state, since there is going to be so many new players added to the total player pool, at every age level, there could be some major # changes, as to where some players stand. I don't want anyone to be upset over this because it is not seen as the moving down of the player to myself, but as the addition of new players onto the list, who are really gifted.

Rankings The Players: There is one common thought or idea that parents and players always fall victim to when it comes to understanding rankings like this. It also happens to be the most important factor in my opinion, when looking at this type of stuff, that needs to be taken into consideration. When the player is being ranked, it is NOT ONLY for how they are as a prospect right not, but MORE-SO how their game translates to the college level. Some other important factors that I take into consideration when doing this stuff is the players natural "feel" for the game, the numbers they put up VS the current level of competition they face, their size, and how they see the game from a strategic standpoint. (X's and O's)

Final Notes: When it comes that time, this update is going to be massive. We are going to cover a ton of players, explain their games to the people, and make sure that everyone out there working hard gets the recognition they deserve. Every ranking is earned, never given.
