These ladies can shoot it, dish it, lock opponents up on the defensive end. This position is or has to be one of the most important players on the floor. They take care of the rock and distribute it like no other. When you have one of these dynamic players on your club, skies are the limits.
There are many types of PGs out there. You have the creative types, the slashing types, the ones who can thread the needle with their passes. You got the girls who can break ankles, ball on a string, get paint touches and finish at the rim. Oh, we do have the step back types, the pick n’roll types, and the ones who can straight up beat you down the floor going coast to coast. In this state, we got it all, from east to west and everything in between. Any given night, if you see one of these young ladies on the floor, expect a solid game from them plus more.
They say this position is like an extension of a coaching staff. They have to be able to read and see the floor. Playing the #1 spot, you have to be smart, because being effective and efficient is in your repertoire. You have to be trustworthy. You have to be willing to do the little things to help your team rise to the top. So naturally, if you play this position, you have to be scrappy. Sometimes you might be undersized, but you play the game with a big heart because you are passionate about it. When I think about the girls in the volunteer state who suit up and play PG, I expect them to be down right gritty players.
Look anywhere in this state and you will see how amazing and spoiled we are. Colleges raid our state looking for the next best PG to put them over the hump. When I tell you we got it, it’s here within these borders. Take a look at some of the top PGs in our state. They aren’t ranked based on order. Just a bunch of girls you need to keep up with as they hoop on hardwoods near you.
