Only a few weeks remain of regular season play, and a top 7 has seemed to emerge in Oklahoma's largest classification. But it takes 8 to make a State Tournament bracket and anything can happen in a single game sample size. The next few weeks will be pivotal in shaking out which 8 teams are Regional Hosts. And here's a rundown of those top teams and players who are shining brightest in Class 6A.

The winter weather has led to less games played for the Lady Jaguars, but the schedule heats up this week with 918 district battles against Union and Bixby along with an rivalry game against Southmoore. The Lady Jaguars opened their season by taking down Union, and a win in Tulsa tomorrow would position them with an opportunity to be a Regional host. At the John Nobles' tournament elite junior [player_tooltip player_id='572451' first='Kyiah' last='Prestridge'] averaged 22.3 points and 9.6 rebounds. And her freshman phenom sister [player_tooltip player_id='992443' first='Aliyah' last='Prestridge'] had averages of 13.3 points and 7.6 rebounds.

9. Union 10-7

Union's season seems to be a bit of a roller coaster. The Jenks-Union tournament was a perfect example of that. Last Thursday, they got revenge against Broken Arrow. As the Lady Redhawks became only the second team to take down BA this season by winning 73-66. The next night, Edmond North's stellar defense held them to only 35 points in a loss. The win over BA was a sign of the ceiling for a talented squad, but that also came after three straight losses to BA, Bixby and Owasso. Simply point, on any given night the talent of Union seems capable of making a State Tournament run. But they will need to find the consistency down the stretch, which starts by hosting district foe Westmoore on Tuesday.

8. Owasso 10-8

A 5 game losing streak marked the end of 2024 for the Lady Rams, but they have bounced back with 7-2 mark in 2025. Including a perfect district record this calendar year. Which included road wins at Westmoore and Union, giving them a chance to be a Regional host. Now with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='900488' first='Madilyn' last='Hill'] being a walking double double, all Owasso needs to do is protect homecourt down the stretch to set up a potential path to another State Tournament appearance.

7. Edmond North 13-4

It feels a bit weird having the powerhouse program that is Edmond North so low. But the next three teams currently feel a bit interchangeable. Especially because Edmond North, Mustang and Edmond Memorial have all traded wins against each other. The Lady Huskies have played one of the toughest schedules in Oklahoma, with non district battles with Lincoln Christian, Putnam City North, Mustang, Edmond Memorial, Union and more. In district, a road loss to Broken Arrow currently has them second. In little over a week, they'll host BA in a game that will likely decide Class 6A District-4.

6. Edmond Memorial 13-3

With two of Oklahoma's best players ([player_tooltip player_id='309983' first='Janiyah' last='Williams'] and Avery Hjlemstad), Edmond Memorial has leaned on their stars to bounce back after a tough week at the Tournament of Champions that closed out 2024. So far in 2025, they're 7-0 and have a chance to go atop the Class 6A-1 District standings when traveling to Mustang on Tuesday night. Last month, Mustang held Edmond Memorial to a season low 34 points. A point total that either of Williams or Hjelmstad could produce on their own, and surely will have the Lady Bulldogs eager for revenge and to take control of Class 6A District-1.

5. Mustang 14-3

One of the top defensive teams in Oklahoma, they routinely hold teams under 50 points. They're filled with athletic and long guards/wings, who cause havoc on the perimeter. And also have the grit and determination to rebound and compete around the rim. They're 7-0 this calendar year, including hanging 91 points on district foe Norman North and winning the Sweat Pea tournament at Newcastle. The dynamic duo of [player_tooltip player_id='396323' first='Mya' last='Alston'] and [player_tooltip player_id='551215' first='Cherish' last='Haywood'] give them the firepower to compete with anyone in Oklahoma.

4. Bixby 15-2

The Lady Spartans are arguably the best shooting team in Oklahoma. Their starting line up and bench are filled with shooters who must be respected. They're currently riding a 7 game winning streak, complete with a dominant showing in the 405 by winning the John Nobles Tournament. At 7-0 in District play, they're in the driver's seat to be a regional host. And this week could cement that if they can take down Owasso and Westmoore again.

3. Broken Arrow 16-2

A recent slip up to 918 rivals Union is the only blemish from 2025 on a team that has been laying the smackdown with blowout wins over Glenpool, Sapulpa, Sand Springs, Bartlesville and more. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='309979' first='McKenzie' last='Mathurin'] is a bucket, while fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id='556754' first='Rekiah' last='Bowen'] has elevated her game as a tough two-way impact player. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='331833' first='Peyton' last='Dolan'] and [player_tooltip player_id='453928' first='Kate' last='Wiginton'] provide shooting. [player_tooltip player_id='315202' first='Taryn' last='Jacobs'] does the dirty work down low. While [player_tooltip player_id='315224' first='Macy' last='Marraccini'] runs the show and can provide a scoring punch when needed. A complete team that is eager to make it back to the Class 6A State Tournament after slipping up last year in Area.

2. Norman 14-1

Norman's headliner is is [player_tooltip player_id='309980' first='Keeley' last='Parks'] but this season has proven there's the required talent and depth around her to make a State Title run. [player_tooltip player_id='315220' first='Halyn' last='Browning'] is crucial as a set up guard, while also hitting big shots. [player_tooltip player_id='556314' first='Blythe' last='Crawley'] is a sharpshooter, who helps space the floor. And [player_tooltip player_id='525636' first='Destinee' last='Deer'] is an athletic and versatile wing-forward, who brings great energy to the Tigers squad. After splitting a pair of games with Putnam City North in December, an upcoming trip to northwest OKC will likely decide the winner of Class 6A District 2.

1. Putnam City North 17-1

Nationally ranked and rolling through Oklahoma. Edmond North and Norman are the only two teams in the state to play them within single digits this year. With Norman taking the first meeting in a tournament championship before Putnam City North winning the more important district clash a few days later. They have shooters in [player_tooltip player_id='578025' first='Kiana' last='Gray'] and [player_tooltip player_id='310156' first='HaNiya' last='Geretta']. Elite defenders in [player_tooltip player_id='315218' first='Brandie' last='Harrod'] and [player_tooltip player_id='802022' first='Nykaiya' last='Dillard'] and more depth throughout their roster. The Lady Panthers were a bit of a Cinderella story last year by reaching the Class 6A State Tournament, and this year they're the main event as arguably Oklahoma's best team regardless of class. We're a little over a week out from the rubber match between the two elite squads, with PCN playing host this time.
