Savayah is highly ranked in our first release of 2029 rankings for many reasons, but she is tremendously skilled, maybe more so than anyone else in this rookie class. She has an athletic frame, she moves well in most directions, and she plays with an outstanding motor. If/when you get to see her play, she plays with a veteran’s savvy and has a great all-around feel for the game. Being so well-rounded, the biggest thing for her moving forward is to just continue being more efficient and working to defend the best athletes off the dribble.

play. She looks much improved compared to just a few weeks ago when I saw her during the state tournament. The growth in her game is noticeable—she’s playing stronger, more confident, and with a much better feel for the pace of the game. She does a great job of letting the game come to her while still being aggressive when opportunities present themselves.
What really stands out is how difficult she is to guard. Whether it’s her ability to get to her spots, finish through contact, or make smart decisions with the basketball, she consistently puts pressure on the defense. She plays at a very high level and carries herself with a presence on the floor that you don’t always see at her age. With a few Division I offers already, she is quickly emerging as one of the top guards in the country in her class.
Another thing that separates her is her consistency and impact on both ends of the floor. She doesn’t just score the basketball—she influences the game with her energy, competitiveness, and overall feel. She understands how to take over when needed, but also how to trust her teammates and make the right play. That maturity in her game is what makes her so dangerous and so valuable.
I’m really excited to follow her journey over the next three years of her high school career. With her work ethic, steady progression, and the way she’s trending right now, she has the potential to become a very special player.

One of the best freshmen in the state, Savannah Mitchell, showed why she has that title next to her name: poised, patient, good footwork, and a nice handle. One of the things that stood out most was her ability to come off the bench and make an immediate impact. The game vs Avon passed the eye test on every level. Did a great job using her size and made some tough shots.

continues to add new dimensions to her game, making her one of the most exciting freshmen to follow this season. Her impact goes well beyond scoring; she contributes in multiple ways, from rebounding and playmaking to defensive pressure, helping Pike control both ends of the court.
Mitchell is also an excellent communicator, constantly connecting with teammates and coaches to keep the offense flowing and maintain defensive cohesion. Coming off the bench, she led Pike in scoring with 15 points, highlighted by an electrifying buzzer-beater at the end of the first half that energized her team.
Her versatility, energy, and competitiveness make her a key contributor for Pike. As the season progresses, Mitchell’s confidence and all-around skill set suggest she will continue to grow into one of the program’s most dynamic and impactful players.

is making a strong case as one of the top guards in her class in the state of Indiana, and she backed it up with an impressive showing at the showcase. She put her full offensive game on display, scoring at all three levels—whether it was getting to the rim, knocking down her smooth mid-range jumper, or confidently hitting from deep. In the 3-on-3 session, Mitchell’s communication and energy stood out, showing that she already has the mindset to be a leader at a young age. What makes her especially fun to watch is the way she approaches the game—focused, competitive, and with a confidence well beyond her years. Heading into her freshman season at Pike, Mitchell is poised to be a difference-maker right away, bringing the kind of impact and versatility her team will need to compete in the years ahead.

During her time playing with Team 3 during the Showcase, Savayah was able to control how and where the ball went due to her quick play-making abilities. Despite her own abilities with handling the ball, Savayah made sure that her teammates also got many chances to showcase their own strengths. Strategic passes to her teammates allowed for her to pick up quite the amount of assists. Not only does Savayah create deliberate plays during the game, her shooting accuracy was another attribute that is sure to catch any scout’s eye. Savayah consistently made field goals, no matter where she was on the court.

Savayah was impressive in every facet of the game for Team 3 at the Freshman Showcase. The first play that pointed to her next-level talent was a speedy drive from the corner with a side-step layup finish. She stepped into a smooth triple from the slot and buried confident mid-range pull-ups in bunches. Savayah pursued rebounds on both ends and cleaned up around the basket, scoring put-backs. She swiped the ball away with her quick hands on defense and blocked shots. Savayah penetrated gaps with her explosive drives, finishing many layups and floaters with a soft touch. She buried triples up top off the catch and the dribble. Savayah dished out assists and fired passes up the court in transition. One of my favorite finishes from Savayah was a rock-the-baby left-handed scoop finish off the glass. She scored many bunnies off two feet throughout the day. Her athleticism, three-level scoring, pure shooting, court vision, determined rebounding, lockdown defense, and complete dominance earned recognition as a Top Performer in addition to my 2025 Freshman Showcase MVP.
