<p>The Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Player of the Week Award is given to one student-athlete among many deserving candidates who demonstrates excellence during a week of their team's competition. The winner contributes to their team's success in multiple statistical categories to help her team compete to their best potential. Several players were deserving of recognition, but only one can be selected for Player of the Week. Those not chosen as Player of the Week received recognition as Player of the Week Honorable Mention. Here are the girls who had a magnificent tenth week of the season and it's time to celebrate their accomplishments!</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Jayla has stepped into a star role for Saginaw Heritage in just her first year on varsity. She's been reliable and dependable for the Hawks all season, averaging 17 points per game against SVL opponents and 15.1 points overall. Jayla broke a Legends Heritage single-game scoring record last week when she poured in 34 points during a 67-38 win against Flint Carman-Ainsworth. Jayla added 20 points with 4 rebounds and 3 assists in a 59-24 victory against Mount Pleasant. She finished the week with 54 points and is quickly becoming one of the best guards in the Saginaw Valley League. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Rayah became the fourth player in school history to eclipse 1,000 points last week. She scored 23 during a 55-33 win against Williamston and 25 in a 59-36 win against Harper Creek. Rayah is a sharpshooter who can slash to the rim and set up teammates with pinpoint passes. The Panthers are 16-1 and a serious title contender in D2. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Madleen was cooking against New Boston Huron and her clutch 3-point shooting down the stretch lifted Flat Rock to a 61-57 comeback win. Madleen scored a career-high 32 points with 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals, and 1 block. She buried five triples in the win. Madleen hit two triples during her 14-point performance in a 34-25 win against Grosse Ille. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Janiyah was great in multiple statistical categories last week, as she has been all season for Center Line. Janiyah posted 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks against Sterling Heights. She followed that up with a monstrous triple-double: 16 points, 15 rebounds, 10 blocks, 8 steals, and 4 assists against Lamphere. Janiyah set a new career high this season with 28 points against Warren Mott.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Sophie is right on track to hit 1,000 career points in the future, passing 500 last week. She is setting the pace in points and rebounds this season, averaging 15.1 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Sophie had 10 points and 13 rebounds against Hale, then added 19 points and 16 rebounds in a win against Posen. She has secured a double-double in all but three games for Au Gres-Sims this season.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Averie was our Dec. 22nd-28th Player of the Week and she had another marvelous week to start February. Averie posted 81 points in two games with 50 points in a 72-49 win against Burton Bendle and 31 in a 53-30 win against Morrice. </p>

She dropped 52 points last week with 11 steals and 9 assists as Imlay City defeated Almont 71-34 and Marine City 55-34. Alexis deflects passes to create steals and finishes with touch around the basket. She shoots with balance and a quick release off the hop or the dribble. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Rennie has stuffed the stat sheet for Jackson Christian all season and she had another huge week. Rennie scored 42 points in two games with 7 steals. During a 60-33 win against North Adams-Jerome, Rennie jumped passing lanes to create steals, buried smooth triples, and side-stepped defenders with eurosteps to finish layups: she had 30 points. </p>

Lily is tough enough to play inside and has the offensive skills to play on the perimeter. She knocks down 3s and drives hard to score off the dribble. </p>
