The dust has settled on the regional weekend. In a week, we'll know the field for the state tournament. As we inch closer to Sectional Semifinal matchups, we'll look at a few results from this weekend. We'll also look forward to matchups this upcoming weekend.

No. 5 Neenah vs. No. 1 Eau Claire Memorial

The Rockets have guard talent, which could give them a slight edge in their matchup with Eau Claire Memorial. The Rockets are getting excellent performances out of their role players and are still waiting on a statement game from [player_tooltip player_id='533065' first='Rowan' last='Klesmit'], which could come at any time. Eau Claire Memorial has proven depth with players like [player_tooltip player_id='1045830' first='Raya' last='Shaw'], [player_tooltip player_id='1173395' first='Norah' last='Kling'], Ashlynne Schroeder, and [player_tooltip player_id='653806' first='Rayna' last='Welsch']. Memorial is better than most give them credit for, but this one should be fun.

No. 6 Kettle Moraine vs. No. 2 Waunakee

Kettle Moraine is back in sectionals again. Their guard play is legit, and they have the athleticism to keep up with a Waunakee team that wants to run. [player_tooltip player_id='751287' first='Tessa' last='Bryan'] has been the engine for the Warrior offensive machine. However, everyone understands their roles. [player_tooltip player_id='509699' first='Graycin' last='Phillips'] is their lengthy and floor-spacing big, Ellen Dotzler has been a high-level shooter, [player_tooltip player_id='533066' first='Audrey' last='Meudt'] has orchestrated their half-court offense, and [player_tooltip player_id='874384' first='Keira' last='Van Wie'] has provided energy off the bench.

No. 2 Lakeland vs. No. 1 Rice Lake

Rice Lake won the first matchup with Lakeland on the road this season, and now these two Northwoods powers get to lock horns again. [player_tooltip player_id='533077' first='Adaline' last='Sheplee'] has been among the most talented kids in the state and has taken her new role this season like a duck to water. [player_tooltip player_id='914910' first='Addison' last='Schmidt'] has been a consistent interior presence, and their role players have been making their open shots. The Thunderbirds have Ms. Basketball contender [player_tooltip player_id='338940' first='Kristina' last='Ouimette'] and Arkansas softball commit [player_tooltip player_id='448291' first='Saylor' last='Timmerman'] ready to battle around the rim.

No. 2 Whitefish Bay vs. No. 1 Wauwatosa East

The guards are so talented in this game. [player_tooltip player_id='400915' first='Mikaia' last='Litza'], [player_tooltip player_id='509696' first='Emma' last='Close'], [player_tooltip player_id='509715' first='Sadie' last='Kubacki'], and [player_tooltip player_id='454966' first='Ellie' last='Deprey'] on the Tosa East side. [player_tooltip player_id='751283' first='Rowan' last='Counsell'], [player_tooltip player_id='751268' first='Madeline' last='Volpe'], [player_tooltip player_id='509716' first='Sage' last='Miskel'], and [player_tooltip player_id='751252' first='Carrington' last='Balthasar'] on the Whitefish Bay side. The difference in this game will be who can control the boards. The Red Raiders have the edge with [player_tooltip player_id='528123' first='Makenzie' last='Hawk'] and [player_tooltip player_id='766594' first='Audrey' last='Sellinger'] on paper, but that's why you play the games. If you can go to this game, I'd recommend it.

No. 2 Xavier at No. 1 Winneconne

The Xavier-Winneconne rematch is from over the holiday break, where Xavier won and had a convincing lead in that game. [player_tooltip player_id='751291' first='Grace' last='Mitchell'], Jada Kaiser, and [player_tooltip player_id='1162234' first='Harper' last='Neace'] have had an excellent season and have the tools to pull out a win. They can play with the Hawks and clawed their way back into the first game. Xavier has a deep rotation with plenty of kids who can hurt you, like [player_tooltip player_id='766628' first='Brynn' last='Krull'], [player_tooltip player_id='766619' first='Joy' last='Krull'], and Hailey Hafner. The Hawks could play ten kids.

No. 2 Ooostburg vs. No. 1 Kettle Moraine Lutheran

Two of the top three teams in D3 will see each other on Thursday. The Ketterhagen sisters are elite talents, but the question is, can the other kids handle the pressure KML throws at them? [player_tooltip player_id='533061' first='Riley' last='Ketterhagen'] is an excellent two-way kid, [player_tooltip player_id='533060' first='Ady' last='Ketterhagen'] has dominated around the rim, and [player_tooltip player_id='880796' first='Kinsley' last='Ketterhagen'] is an elite scorer at all three levels. The Chargers have their identity, and they've done nothing but beat good teams this season. [player_tooltip player_id='448257' first='Makenzie' last='Luehring'] has been among the elite in the state this season, [player_tooltip player_id='751259' first='Hayden' last='Lauer'] has stepped up, and Brooklyn Luerhing has been an excellent addition to this group. KML-Oostburg is the game of the day on Thursday.
