Throughout the course of the past few weeks, many of you have seen multiple rankings drop. From different publications, including ours, you have seen class rankings, national rankings, and so forth. I had an opportunity to speak with a panel of coaches (both high school and AAU) to help come up with our top 35 players in the state. The criteria for the selection were based on their body of work, where they were nationally ranked, accolades, travel ball success, high school success, and so forth. Many girls have had D1 offers, with some just being solid ballplayers who rack up numbers. However you slice it, these young ladies are the top 35 based on their production and how they effectively uplift their ballclubs.
Being a part of the top 35, you don’t win an award or anything. To be honest with you, it’s people respecting your game and what you bring to the table. The ladies who landed on this list are tough, and believe me, there were tons of girls who could have fallen into the top 35. As you all know, it’s just a list. Not my opinion, but a collaboration of people who brought thoughts, ideas, and arguments to the table. I appreciate all who contributed, and you know who you are.
The ladies listed are those who have excelled at this game. Like I mentioned above, there are tons of other talented girls who could be mentioned as well. These are the ones whose stocks are really high and are still climbing. Remember, it doesn’t matter the class or the position, these young ladies are considered some of the best amongst our awesome state.
