About Emily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Emily is an uptempo point guard that likes to push the ball in transition to find the one person. She is aggressive and is versatile being long and quick so can guard the post or perimeter without a problem.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Aggressive personality that is very competitive. She works hard to excel on and off the court

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Academic Excellence Award

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leader on the court as well as a good teammate. Challenging being a freshman on the varsity team and stepping into a leadership role.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I developed a stress fracture in my foot half way through AAU season in 2025. I played through it for a month at a high level until I needed to rest it. It was very challenging to be off 6-8 weeks and come back to play at that high of level again through All Iowa Attack practices since the level of play is at such a high level especially competing against girls two years older.

What type of college are you looking for?

Competitive high D1 level.

I looked forward to watching Tanny in action. I’d seen her when she played in the same youth program as our daughter and had heard her game had come a long way. Plus, I reported on her mother, Amy Herrig-Tanny, when she played at Iowa. Young Tanny certainly lived up to the advanced billing. She’s a no-doubt Division I prospect with a significantly high ceiling. Tanny’s game is advanced in a lot of areas from her handle to shooting form to footwork to defensive technique. She can create matchup problems with her versatile skill set on offense and can guard opponents at multiple positions. Colleges already have Tanny on their radar and more will follow.
