A couple of weeks ago, we updated the rankings for the Class of 2025. While there are still 100 prospects listed, we moved from a Top-50 list with an additional 50-player watchlist, to a true Top-100 list. There was a little movement and a handful of new additions, but more than anything, our goal was to get to the all-inclusive list of the 100 best prospects in Indiana’s 2025 class. Below is a quick look at a few of those prospects.
THE TOP-5
Our Top-5 in 2025 remains the same for another term, with Lawrence Central wing Jaylah Lampley Jaylah Lampley 6'2" | SF Lawrence Central | 2025 State IN landing at the top spot. With the combination of her size, length, fluid athleticism, and skillset, she presents a matchup problem for most of her peers, and you have to step out into National competition to find many similar to her in the 2025 class. She has a solid handle, some touch from the perimeter, and she’s a selfless player who will find open teammates. As she continues to build her strength, she’ll be able to consistently finish through contact at the rim, and she’ll see her share of points throughout her career. Not far behind in our #2 spot is Kira Reynolds Kira Reynolds 6'4" | PF South Bend Washington | 2025 State IN of South Bend Washington. Kira is another matchup problem, but she operates more so around the block, in the mid-post, and in the short-corners. She has tremendous length, fluid athleticism, and nice touch to about 15-feet. She can box out and seal to rebound, plus she pursues rebounds outside of her area well. She also poses a problem for opposing drivers, as she blocks/alters a ton of shots each time out.
Long and rangy wing Maya Makalusky Maya Makalusky 6'3" | SF Hamilton Southeastern | 2025 State IN of Hamilton Southeastern comes in at #3, and the rising Sophomore already has a reputation as a dangerous perimeter shooter. She definitely has touch outside, but she also has a quick release and needs little space to get it away. At 6-3, it allows her to still see the rim, even with a defender closing out at her. She is fluidly athletic, she’s developing change-of-direction ball-handling, and as she adds strength, watch out. Our fourth ranked 2025 is Laila Abdurraqib Laila Abdurraqib 5'7" | PG Lawrence Central | 2025 State IN of Lawrence Central. No one was able to see her during the Winter due to a significant knee injury, but she returned this Spring and is already turning heads again. She is right at one year removed from the injury, and I tend to allow 12-15 months for athletes to return to form from such injuries, so she’s ahead of schedule. Laila is strong, she plays low to the ground, she has speed and quickness, and she’s a tough-nosed kid. She can create offense in a hurry, whether for herself or others, and she can defend the ball 84-feet. Last, but certainly not least, is Meredith Tippner Meredith Tippner 5'10" | SG Noblesville | 2025 State IN of Noblesville. Meredith has had quite the year, starting for the State Champion Millers, then catapulting that into a strong Spring season at the 17U level. She is a long, fluid, smooth athlete, she plays with a tremendous motor and competitive fire, and she can play either guard spot equally well. For all the accolades she is earning in basketball, she is probably an even better soccer star.
TOP-5 POTENTIAL
Everyone seems to like to play the “what if” game, so here is a quick look at a few ladies who have Top-5 potential if this or that go their way. First up is Addison Baxter Addison Baxter 5'9" | PG Columbia City | 2025 State IN of Columbia City. The long, fluid point guard has a natural feel for the game, she has a sixth sense and can find teammates anywhere, plus she can score the ball at all three levels. She has grown rapidly and is just starting to add strength. She has the ability to play her way into a Top-5 spot over the years, but if she gets to a legitimate 5-11 height-wise, it would be hard not to consider her in that grouping above. Brownsburg’s Avery Gordon Avery Gordon 6'6" | C Brownsburg | 2025 State IN is another to consider, as she has been on a meteoric rise this last year. She too has grown rapidly, she has great hands, and she has solid footwork. Based on her potential, she has garnered a handful of big offers already, so as the consistency in her skillset comes in the future, I’d almost expect her to continue rising up this list. In a “normal” class, Greensburg forward Leah West Leah West 6'1" | PF Greensburg | 2025 State IN might already be a Top-5 kid, but 2025 in Indiana has a lot of talent at the top. Leah is strong, fairly athletic, and she has shown a great deal of skill throughout the Spring and early Summer. As she continues to build that skillset and stretch her game to the perimeter, she will continue to be a force.
From there, things have to fall in place for the following girls, but I could make an argument for each. Lake Central point guard Vanessa Wimberly Vanessa Wimberly 5'5" | PG Lake Central | 2025 State IN has an “it” factor for sure. She’s explosive, skilled, and understands how to play. She has dealt with injuries, so a consistent stretch of play over the next couple of years will be paramount for her. Ryiah Wilson Ryiah Wilson 5'8" | CG South Bend Washington | 2025 State IN and Monique Mitchell Monique Mitchell 5'11" | SF South Bend Washington | 2025 State IN , both of South Bend Washington, have each flashed big-time talent and drawn some serious offers already. They both lean more on their athletic talents than skillsets right now, but because they possess the athletic talent that they do, as they develop their skillsets, they will continue to rise up the ranks amongst their peers. How far will be determined over time. A pair of longshots might be Kenzie Garner Kenzie Garner 6'0" | SF Sheridan | 2025 State IN of Sheridan and Avah Montgomery Avah Montgomery 5'9" | SG Southridge | 2025 State IN of Southridge. Garner grew quickly and is still figuring out her extremely long, wiry frame. She is a pure shooter, and as she gains strength, look for her to expand her range. If she can get to 6-2, with her ability to play on the perimeter, she could develop into a comparable wing to Makalusky (above). Montgomery has genetics on her side, with a 6-5 2021 brother playing professional baseball, and a 6-1 2022 sister headed to Division-II basketball. If she grows throughout high school like they did, she has the passion, skill, and athletic talent to play either guard position at a high level.
KEEP AN EYE ON…
Lindsay Arcella Lindsay Arcella 5'9" | SF Andrean | 2025 State IN – The 5-9 wing from Andrean is a “sleeper” who many will come to find out about over the next year. She has a wiry-strong frame, nice all-around athleticism, and she’s a dangerous shooter with range well-beyond the 3-point line.
Addison Bowsman – I recently discussed the 5-5 point guard from Twin Lakes, and she is such a cerebral guard with a nice feel for the game. She can shoot, handle, and distribute; she just needs to finish growing and continue getting stronger.
Nevaeh Dickman Nevaeh Dickman 6'0" | PF Fishers | 2025 State IN – The 6-0 Fishers forward had a nice Spring, and she played banged up at times. She has good size, strength, and athleticism, she can power her way down to the block and dominate, plus she has a nice skillset in the mid-post.
Soriah Gouard Soriah Gouard 5'9" | SG Decatur Central | 2025 State IN – Soriah is a move-in from Danville, Illinois, and the 5-9 wing should give the Decatur Central Hawks a nice boost on the wing. She is a long, wiry-strong, slashing type of athlete, but she does have a little touch and some ball skill.
Amari Jackson Amari Jackson 5'8" | PF Richmond | 2025 IN – This 5-9 wing doesn’t have a big reputation right now, but when I saw her this Spring, she had length, really nice athletic talent, and she plays with a motor. Her ability to defend multiple positions, plus her explosiveness, stood out.
