This one was an update on the original article. Ashley is a dynamic player and capable of scoring from anywhere. I know this from watching her,, but I did not know she broke the school record for threes in a season last year. Even more impressive is that she did it in the first 15 games of the season. She was the 3A KingCo MVP and finished with the 2nd most points scored by any player in school history. She has made huge strides in her game in just one year from freshman to sophomore. She was the leading scorer on a good team as a freshman, so she was already a talented scorer. Her athletic bucket getting skills are some of the more impressive you will see when she gets it going. She is bringing in college offers and I expect those will start to come from bigger schools at the division 1 level. This Lake Washington backcourt will be fun to watch next season.
Kaleo is a phenomenal talent at the point guard position. She gets on the list of best shooters with her long range accuracy and productivity, but she also has a lot to like besides the shooting. She gets on the list of top mid-range players as well. She will often change speeds, use the dribble and pull up from inside the a arc with a smooth looking jumper. She has that length that will help her at the next level, she moves her feet well, and picks pockets for easy layups with her great open floor speed. As a point guard who is by far the most talented player on her team, she makes the simple passes, drive and kicks, and plays unselfish. She could probably score a bit more but she has always had shooters surrounding her and she gets them the ball as a good point guard should. She has shake and bake on the dribble drive and is great at finishing plays around the basket.

When you combine shooting, ball handling, floor vision, and the mid-range game, there’s none better in WA. She is nationally ranked, and I have not had the pleasure of watching the guards who are ranked ahead of her, but if there are some who do those four things better, girls basketball is in great hands. She is the best shooter in the state, and has the best mid-range pull up jumper that I have seen in the state. She is a once in a generation type skilled player, and does every guard skill as well as any. Better than any.

Brooke has been an excellent shooter for the past two years. She made 80 threes as a freshman and hit 96 of them last season. Although I can’t find every stat, there are very few players who have made that many in one season. That puts her in the elite of the elite from long distance. She is lethal if she has any space at all, and she doesn’t need much to be a threat to pile up points in a hurry. She is really developing into an all level scorer, noticeably improving that part of her game. She shoots it with the confidence that it will go in every time. All elite shooters should or do think along the same lines. She’s a dandy who can handle it, and be physically strong enough to score in traffic at the basket. She shoots it off the dribble, and is adept at getting the defense off balance with shot fakes (underrated) since most defenders will react to any simple shot fake.

Megan has been a lights out scoring guard who has some of the best range you’ll see. She has been a lights out shooter since I first saw her at the Freshman Showcase a couple years ago. She absolutely lit it up there, hitting at least 7 threes in each game. She has continued to do the same with some huge games the last two seasons. She is a strong guard who can play at her own pace, sets up the defense well for the mid-range jumpers, and creates well enough to get shots when she is overplayed by the defense. She is a solid ball handler but no doubt a scoring guard by trade. I believe she hit 9 threes in a game last season and has to be right there with the leaders in threes made her freshman and Sophomore seasons.
Deep ball range, she will pull it from NBA range and has great shot mechanics. She is very decisive and if the defense is too close, she can turn the corner in a hurry and gets all the way to the basket. She doesn’t go half speed, she makes her decisions and gets to the basket. She is in the mid-range club as well, showing the ability to pull up going either direction. She is a talented player and one who might be underrated. She has great instincts, good speed, lights out shooter, and a craftiness around the basket. She has the potential to have a huge season next year in my opinion as one of the best in the class of 2026.
Paige has one of the prettiest of anyone on this list. She has a tight shooters pocket, and leaves little room for error. The catch and shoot is excellent, she always has herself square and ready to shoot it. I don’t know what her percentage was, but I would bet she didn’t miss many free throws either. She has some of those other guard qualities that I like as well. She is a high IQ player, she sees the floor well and drops some nice dimes as a player who is unselfish to say the least. She is talented but she would rather make the right pass, then he to try and do too much. She does have some tricky and flashy plays when she gets distracted to the basket. She does not, however seem to be out of control hardly ever. Part of the best backcourt trio in the state with

. I’d put the latter two in my all mid-range list as two of the better scorers off the dribble.
Highlights
She is one of the quickest guards on this list. She is an elite shooter with a lightning quick release. She is great at shooting it off the dribble and does so frequently from three. She uses the quick dribble or two to create enough space to get her shots off. One of the shooters here who does shoot the three off the dribble more often than most. She is a little undersized but that skill of learning to free herself with a dribble or two is obviously something she has worked at. She is a great on ball defensive player because of how quickly she moves her feet and stays up in opposing guards.
Highlights
Plays with a lot of fire on both ends of the floor. She has great quickness and plays aggressively on defense, forcing turnovers. She is great when she gets the ball in space and can be tough to keep in front when she attacks the basket. That said, she has a nice looking shot from three and looks like she has the potential to be a high volume shooter but with accuracy. Her shot is compact and she has no trouble with the distance. A player with a lot of talent who could have a breakout season next year. She was good last, but has the tools to be a big time player.
Hayden shoots the three with ease and has great shot mechanics. Her length and build are a factor in that, but she also has her shot looking pure and effortless. She has the length on the perimeter to get her shots off, and can be a difference maker scoring from inside the paint as well. Coming off a state title where she was the main offensive weapon, she is set up to have a couple of huge years with her overall scoring, but it’s the shooting that she excels at the most right now.
Highlights
Kimora is outstanding in the mid-range game and she uses it frequently. She is quick to set it up and has it down well enough that it’s a big weapon in her game. . She is also a good shooter from three and quick to the basket. She is an athlete and it shows up with the overall scoring skills. She has speed and quickness, defends well, and can be a great scorer. Her handles are good, and she can play either guard spot. She shows flashes of a guard who has all the talent to be a good college player.
Highlights
Grace has that ability to be effective from three and Mid-range. She is one of the best in the mid-range, she has a beautiful pull-up jumper, especially going to the left. She is athletic and strong. She has a lot of moves, including spins, step throughs, you name it. Her thrres point shooting is on the elite level as well. She has that compact shot and it always looks like it is going in. She is excellent in the open floor, she makes decisions, or plays naturally that are tough shots to make. Great instincts, zero hesitation.
Highlights
I hhad originally forgot to add her from my draft. I wanted to make it right before I lose some credibility. Brynna is one of the best shooters in the state, and lots of those come from way out. A great scoring guard the past couple years playing with other good guards. That may have taken some of her shots away but I she should be green light whenever she is open from 23 or so feet. She is a skilled all around player who isn’t just a shooter. She might be one who really raises that stock this season.
