As we finish up the most recent quarterly rankings updates, our focus is now on the young but intriguing 2027 class. While there is still a lot of time left in their playing careers, several members of this class have flashed upside, so regardless of where a player might be ranked right now, there is still a lot of time left in their careers and the potential for all of these ladies to continue to grow their game. Below is a look specifically at the top combo guard prospects in 2027.

NOTEWORTHY UPDATES:
McKenzie Chapman

Zionsville | 2027
State

, 2027, 5-8 CG, Zionsville Community H.S.
– McKenzie is all motor, heart, and toughness, and with a number of 2024 backcourt graduations at Zionsville, look for her to step into a prime leadership role as a Sophomore. She can handle it, knock down shots, and she’s very good attacking the basket off the bounce. I also like her willingness to defend and rebound.

South Central (Elizabeth) | 2027
IN
, 2027, 5-4 CG, South Central H.S. (Elizabeth)
– South Central hasn’t won more than 4 games in a season since 2017-2018, but Hailey came in and started to change that narrative this year. She can fill it up at times from outside, she is quick and shifty off the bounce, and she likes the competition. She helped them improve from 2 to 8 wins in her rookie season.
Kendal Hill

South Knox | 2027
State
IN
, 2027, 5-7 CG, South Knox H.S.
– Kendal entered the fray as a Freshman and helped alleviate some pressure from a couple of talented 2025 prospects. She is athletic, able to get to the basket and score, but she can also bury shots consistently from outside. Additionally, she can slide over to a true point position and initiate/manage the offense as well.
Marissa Pleasant

Marquette Catholic | 2027
IN
, 2027, 5-5 CG, Marquette Catholic H.S.
– Marissa was “Miss Big Shot” in February, helping the Blazers to advance to the State Finals by burying a game-winner from ‘3’ in the Semi-State finale. She is tough, quick, and feisty. She is more of a scorer/attacker right now, but she can make open rhythm jumpers, and she can also find open teammates as a PG.
Saniya Smith

Pike | 2027
State
IN
, 2027, 5-5 CG, Pike H.S.
– Saniya was a big part of a youth movement at Pike this year, attempting to help them get back to their winning ways. The Red Devils were an improved 12-15 but haven’t had a winning record since 2017-2018. That should change very soon. Saniya is a hard-working, athletic, creator/scorer who can put up points in bunches.
