This week marks the NCAA's second year for a "scholastic live period" in June, when prospects are allowed to participate in individual and team events operated by either their state's association or their state's coaches' association. In Indiana, the IHSAA allows the IBCA to operate said events, and last year the Top-100 individual showcase and the team showcase went over very well with college coaches, as Indiana was one of just 18 states to take advantage of the "scholastic live period".

On Friday & Saturday, June 14 & 15, the IBCA will host the second annual Charlie Hughes team showcase for girls at a combination of Hamilton Southeastern High School, plus Mt. Vernon (Fortville) High School and Middle School. 93 teams from around the state have chosen to participate, with games beginning as early as 9:00 a.m. Friday morning. Below is a quick look at the teams in Pools P through U, with a top prospect for each team, a "sleeper" prospect or top newcomer for each team, and one player from each pool to especially keep an eye on.

KEEP AN EYE ON...Madison Consolidated Junior-to-be front-liner [player_tooltip player_id='832703' first='Mylee' last='McQueary'] (2026). The 6-0 forward/post has been solid all Spring, and as she continues to get stronger and become more explosive, look for her to be even more impactful at the Varsity level. She has a long, wiry-strong frame, she's a solid North/South driver, she has a little touch outside, but she's especially good in the mid-post. If she can either bulk up and dominate inside, or if she can stretch her game to the perimeter full-time, she could be a problem in either area of the floor.

KEEP AN EYE ON...Tri-West Junior-to-be point guard [player_tooltip player_id='884487' first='Aniyah' last='Anthony'] (2026). I've pointed her out a couple of times already this Spring, and there is a good reason for that. She has improved her play and consistency as much as just about anyone in the 2026 class over the past 9-12 months. She is a nice athlete, a solid playmaker for herself and teammates, but she has also proven she can manage a team and run efficient offense much better than a year ago. She can get after defensively, and she's a very active rebounder at her position. She is certainly on an upward trajectory.

KEEP AN EYE ON...Ft. Wayne Bishop Luers Junior-to-be post [player_tooltip player_id='624885' first='Miley' last='Wareing'] (2026). The 6-1 front-liner finished the high school season incredibly strong, then tore through the Spring grassroots session at times. She is very strong and physical, but she also has some quick feet at her size. She has very good hands, keeps the ball high, and finishes through contact at odd angles. If she can prove to stretch her game consistently to the mid-post and short corners, she could be a real problem for opponents. Next season, she will be the focal point for the Knights.

KEEP AN EYE ON...Lafayette Jefferson Junior-to-be point guard [player_tooltip player_id='486509' first='Maya' last='Layton'] (2026). The long, athletic, creative playmaker is now at a new school, so I'll be curious to see how she can affect a program that hasn't seen more than five wins in a season since they were 14-10 during the 2018-2019 season. Layton has steadily been a Top-20 talent in Indiana's 2026 class, she holds multiple Division-I offers, she is skilled and somewhat creative with the ball in her hands, she has added range and consistency to her jumper, plus she is playing with much more urgency defensively.

KEEP AN EYE ON...both of Lowell's post prospects. Lowell has recently been one of the smaller Class 4A schools in the state, but with the IHSAA's new restructuring of classifications, they have fallen to Class 3A. Senior-to-be post [player_tooltip player_id='828063' first='Elysia' last='Laub'] (2025) and Sophomore-to-be post [player_tooltip player_id='834936' first='Gatlin' last='Hanrath'] (2027) are both intriguing frontline prospects who college coaches should check in on this weekend. Laub is a physical player around the basket, she has really nice length, and she can cause problems in the paint. Hanrath also has size and length, she can play around the basket, but she also has some mid-post and short corner versatility to her game.

KEEP AN EYE ON...Waldron Sophomore-to-be wing [player_tooltip player_id='751062' first='Grace' last='Fischer'] (2027). Grace had an outstanding Freshman season for Waldron, averaging 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.4 steals per game, while knocking down 36 3-pointers and making 76% of her charity tosses. She is incredibly long and wiry, fluidly athletic, and somewhat bouncy. She will definitely need to continue adding strength for the next level, but as she does, look for her to be that much more effective for her high school team, and ultimately, she could graduate as one of their best ever.
