The season is starting in just over a month, and I'd like to begin releasing my preseason All-State Teams this week, starting with the D5 All-State teams and progressing to the D1 All-State Teams on Friday. I'll have a first-team and second-team, along with honorable mentions in each division around the state. Before the season starts, I will also update rankings in the 26, 27, and 28 classes, as well as the Watch List for the class of 2029.

[player_tooltip player_id='882114' first='Ariell' last='Allen'], jr., Milwaukee Academy of Science

Allen has the tools to be a reliable scorer on the offensive end. The left-handed guard is one of the better shooters in her 2027 class, and can make shots in bunches if she has the space. As more experienced players have graduated this past spring, Allen could find herself as the focal point of what the Novas do on the offensive end this coming winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='931583' first='Brooklyn' last='Luehring'], soph., Kettle Moraine Lutheran

The Kettle Moraine Lutheran guard had a productive first season on what may have been a top-five team in the state last season for the Mustangs. After a talented crop of 2024s graduated in the spring, Luehring is a player who could be the primary ball handler and offensive option for a talented crop of kids who could still make some noise in D3 this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='743735' first='Kourtlyn' last='Guy'], jr., Milwaukee Academy of Science

Guy is among the smartest players I've seen in my time covering girls' basketball in Wisconsin, and she's been that way at least since I saw her first season of high school basketball, and more than likely before then. She has always been a solid defender with the physical tools to be a versatile defender, but she has shown a consistent offensive game over the summer, and could surprise people in Southeast Wisconsin this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='842221' first='Melaina' last='Granquist'], sr., Wittenberg-Birnamwood

Granquist, a Western Illinois commit, helped lead her Wittenberg-Birnamwood team to a successful 2024-25 season last winter, and led them to a Regional Title. Now, the Chargers have their core back, and with the experience of making waves in D3 last winter. Granquist's versatility will make her a tough cover for anyone on the opposing team, and she is ready for another excellent season as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='598735' first='Natalie' last='Backhaus'], sr., Wisconsin Dells

The Sioux Falls commit may be the most talented passer in the 2026 class. Backhaus is a player who can pick apart defenses from the high post and score from all three levels on the offensive end of the floor. Tucked away in the Dells, Backhaus may not be a household name around the state, but there aren't many players like her, and she's a blast to watch work on the offensive end.

Honorable Mention

[player_tooltip player_id='914523' first='Ashley' last='Rowe'], sr., Cuba City

[player_tooltip player_id='1229383' first='Natalie' last='Rudnick'], frosh., Seymour

[player_tooltip player_id='764914' first='Finley' last='Morgan'], jr., Laconia

Crimson Hanson, frosh., Mauston

[player_tooltip player_id='1162234' first='Harper' last='Neace'], jr., Winneconne

[player_tooltip player_id='1219523' first='Avery' last='Richard'], jr., Platteville

[player_tooltip player_id='1228818' first='Rianna' last='Dye'], jr., Platteville

Eden Mueller, soph., Lake Country Lutheran

[player_tooltip player_id='842210' first='Gracie' last='Clary'], sr., Lodi

[player_tooltip player_id='914989' first='Claudia' last='Jenny'], jr., Edgerton

[player_tooltip player_id='624854' first='Gracee' last='Langer'], sr., Edgerton

[player_tooltip player_id='890055' first='Jayda' last='King'], soph., Racine St, Catherine's

[player_tooltip player_id='417945' first='Laila' last='Collier-White'], sr., Racine St. Catherine's

[player_tooltip player_id='767790' first='Violet' last='Otto'], sr., Prescott

[player_tooltip player_id='842229' first='Ella' last='Verbeten'], sr., Wrightstown

Tatum Drazowski, jr., Arcadia

[player_tooltip player_id='624974' first='Zoë' last='Dispennette'], sr., St. Thomas More

[player_tooltip player_id='509692' first='Brooklyn' last='Maves'], sr., Evansville

Cameron Boelte, jr., Kewaskum
