With the new enrollment cutoff in regard to the IHSAA's 2024-2025 classification restructure, each of the four classes will look a bit different. Still, there should be a lot of familiar matchups in Class 3A. Below is a quick look at what to expect out of Sectionals #29 through #32 this week, along with a key player or two for each team.

Analysis: Let me be clear here...Greensburg is a favorite, if not THE favorite, to win all of Class 3A this year. They are talented, they are deep, and they have playmakers at every position. [player_tooltip player_id='751051' first='Claire' last='Larrison'] (16.5p, 8.1r, 3.3a, 2.2s) has quickly turned into a monster for the Pirates. 6-1 [player_tooltip player_id='295778' first='Leah' last='West'] (15.7p, 5.3r) is a Belmont University commit and can play inside-out. [player_tooltip player_id='295779' first='Mylie' last='Wilkison'] (15.6p, 3.1r, 2.6a, 2.7s), [player_tooltip player_id='479613' first='Alyson' last='Powers'] (10.3p, 3.6r, 3.7a, 2.2s), and [player_tooltip player_id='486506' first='Mary' last='Harmon'] (7.2p, 2.5r, 3.7a) help to build a strong, highly skilled backcourt. They are the team to beat in Sectional #29, without question. Batesville does have several talented prospects of its own, led by [player_tooltip player_id='727108' first='Sophie' last='Gesell'], [player_tooltip player_id='570377' first='Alyson' last='Peters'] and Madelyn Haskamp. Jennings County turned over a lot of their roster after losing a talented 2024 class. But the Panthers are still solid and led by [player_tooltip player_id='486508' first='Mollie' last='Ernstes'] (22.9p, 8.2r, 2.8a, 2.6s), who can take over/win games on her own.

PGH Sectional Favorite: Corydon Central
Top Challengers: everyone else

Analysis: Sectional #30 has some competitive teams at the top, and honestly, anyone could come out of here a winner. Corydon Central has gotten strong play out of guards [player_tooltip player_id='295768' first='Alyssa' last='Murphy'] (14.4p, 4.3r, 2.9a, 2.4s) and [player_tooltip player_id='324096' first='Josie' last='Vaughn'] (12.8p, 6.3r, 6.5a, 3.2s) all year. They are quick, feisty, skillful, and seem to be hitting their stride together, though they did suffer a 1-point loss to Silver Creek recently. The Dragons have firepower of their own, including [player_tooltip player_id='486543' first='Brooklynn' last='Renn'] and guard [player_tooltip player_id='422604' first='Emma' last='Schoen'] leading the way. Madison has been tough at times, too, with [player_tooltip player_id='624877' first='Juliana' last='Davis'] (18.4p, 5.4r, 3.1a, 4.6s) leading the Cubs into action. Charlestown, Scottsburg, and North Harrison also each have enough talent to cause problems and advance to Saturday's title game.

PGH Sectional Favorite: Washington
Top Challengers: Jasper, Princeton Community

Analysis: The Washington Hatchets are 21-2 overall, 4-0 against Sectional #31 teams, and 11-0 against Class 3A teams. They are another Southern Indiana team looking to make a deep run. They have quality size, good guard play, depth, and are well-coached. [player_tooltip player_id='486519' first='Katie' last='Reed'] (15.1p, 7.3r) causes matchup problems with the combination of her size and skill. She gets help inside from [player_tooltip player_id='324075' first='Olivia' last='Gilley'] (4.9p, 4.1r). On the perimeter, [player_tooltip player_id='486476' first='Shaylyn' last='Hawk'] (11.1p, 3.3r), [player_tooltip player_id='1122709' first='Kenna' last='Garland'] (9.3p), [player_tooltip player_id='767081' first='Aubrey' last='Frank'] (9.2p, 3.0r, 4.8a, 2.2s), and [player_tooltip player_id='751098' first='London' last='Gilley'] (5.6p, 4.5r) offer a variety of shooting, ball-handling, and creativity. If anyone in Sectional #31 can topple the Hatchets, look for it to be Jasper and [player_tooltip player_id='1122795' first='Carlee' last='Rogers'] or Princeton and their plethora of athletic little guards.

PGH Sectional Favorite: Evansville Central
Top Challengers: Heritage Hills, Evansville Memorial

Analysis: Once again, Sectional #32 feels like it's Evansville Central, then everyone else. Central has been strong all season, they are 19-4 overall, and their lone Class 3A loss was to the aforementioned Washington Hatchets. [player_tooltip player_id='492324' first='Madalynn' last='Shirley'] (25.2p, 12.3r, 2.8a, 2.0s, 3.5b) has already committed to Southern Indiana, and she has been outstanding all season. [player_tooltip player_id='874335' first='Mya' last='Skelton'] (10.8p, 4.9r, 3.0a) brings energy and scoring to the perimeter, while [player_tooltip player_id='874339' first='Olivya' last='Hile'] (8.2p, 3.5r) has started to step up more this year as a versatile inside-out forward. If for some reason anyone else were to win Sectional #32, I would point towards Heritage Hills or Evansville Memorial as being the likely candidates. Heritage Hills has a trio of double-digit scorers in [player_tooltip player_id='1218643' first='Mayci' last='Litherland'] (12.3p, 3.9r, 2.1a), [player_tooltip player_id='295813' first='Carlie' last='Still'] (11.3p, 3.1r, 2.8a), and [player_tooltip player_id='1137294' first='Mia' last='Becher'] (10.2p, 3.5r). Memorial leans heavily on Senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='295756' first='Myla' last='Browning'] and Sophomore Butler University commit [player_tooltip player_id='610126' first='Rylee' last='Canaan'].
