This week marks the NCAA's second year for a "scholastic live period" in June, when prospects are allowed to participate in individual and team events operated by either their state's association or their state's coaches' association. In Indiana, the IHSAA allows the IBCA to operate said events, and last year the Top-100 individual showcase and the team showcase went over very well with college coaches, as Indiana was one of just 18 states to take advantage of the "scholastic live period".

On Friday & Saturday, June 14 & 15, the IBCA will host the second annual Charlie Hughes team showcase for girls at a combination of Hamilton Southeastern High School, plus Mt. Vernon (Fortville) High School and Middle School. 93 teams from around the state have chosen to participate, with games beginning as early as 9:00 a.m. Friday morning. Below is a quick look at the teams in Pools A through E, with a top prospect for each team, a "sleeper" prospect or top newcomer for each team, and one player from each pool to especially keep an eye on.

KEEP AN EYE ON...Lawrence North Senior-to-be post [player_tooltip player_id='295793' first='Jamaya' last='Thomas'] (2025). The powerful 6-1 frontline prospect recently gave a verbal commitment to Division-I Northern Kentucky University, and she has been a force throughout the Spring. She moves very well at her size, she has nice hands, and she can finish in a variety of ways with her back to the basket. I also like her mobility at the defensive end of the floor. She can come out and defend ball screens, she rotates to "help" well, and she is great at keeping opposing posts from comfortably "sitting down" on the block.

KEEP AN EYE ON...Ben Davis Junior-to-be wing [player_tooltip player_id='772792' first='Aubri' last='Ingram'] (2026). With the graduation loss of Zoe Wheeler (2024) and the transfer of [player_tooltip player_id='486542' first='Alonna' last='Divine'] (2026) to rival Pike, Aubri could now be in position to take over a huge ball-handling role, while also significantly increasing her scoring output. She is long, athletic, and creative off the dribble. She has a nice bounce in her step, and I am anxious to see what she can do in a bigger role for the Giants. In the couple of times I've seen her this Spring, she has been a nice playmaker in the role of a point forward, plus she can defend.

KEEP AN EYE ON...Franklin Central Sophomore-to-be point guard [player_tooltip player_id='756239' first='Riley' last='Huotari'] (2027). While classmate [player_tooltip player_id='751115' first='Payton' last='DuVall'] (2027) had a major impact for the Flashes and gave them an interior presence, Riley brought stability to the backcourt that has been a couple of years overdue. She is a quick, fast, and feisty playmaker, and she does a nice job of picking her spots to facilitate versus score the ball. Now that she has a year of experience under her belt, I am excited to see what Year-2 brings for her and a much more experienced group of mostly young Flashes.

KEEP AN EYE ON...Noblesville Junior-to-be front-liner [player_tooltip player_id='486478' first='C.C.' last='Quigley'] (2026). The 6-2 Quigley saw quality minutes over the second half of her Freshman season then saw a big uptick in opportunity as a Sophomore. Now, with significant 2024 graduation losses, the Millers could use C.C. to step into a much bigger scoring role to add an inside threat to [player_tooltip player_id='295776' first='Meredith' last='Tippner']'s (2025) outside scoring. She has experience at that, though, as she can score it around the rim, plus she has nice touch facing the basket in the short corners and mid-post.

KEEP AN EYE ON...Brownsburg Junior-to-be wing [player_tooltip player_id='486533' first='Elle' last='McCulloch'] (2026). Elle had a breakout Summer in 2023 and really put herself "on the map" in terms of her recruiting. She is long, wiry, fluidly athletic, and skilled on the wing. She brought that in flashes during the 2023-2024 season as well, and as she continues to get stronger, more confident, and more aggressive, I look forward to her stepping into a much bigger scoring role for the Bulldogs. She has great upside, a nice, balanced skillset, and the potential to be consistently effective at both ends of the floor.
