This coming week marks the NCAA’s second year for a “scholastic live period” in June, when prospects are allowed to participate in individual and team events operated by either their state’s association or their state’s coaches’ association. In Indiana, the IHSAA allows the IBCA to operate said events, and last year the Top-100 individual showcase and the team showcase went over very well with college coaches, as Indiana was one of just 18 states to take advantage of the “scholastic live period”.
On Thursday, June 13, the IBCA will host the annual Top-100 individual showcase at Ben Davis High School. Prospects will register between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., with on-court activities beginning at approximately 1:15 p.m. (all times are Eastern Time). 131 prospects are registered, and the prospects will be organized into 12 teams. Each team will play four mini-games between 2:05 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., with all 12 teams participating in an overtime tournament for the last half hour. Below is a quick look at the Class of 2025 members who are registered to attend, along with some comments on a few.

After dealing with some significant injuries early in her high school career, Laila has been healthy for quite a while now, and the Indiana basketball world has had their hands full with her. She is strong, athletic, and very skilled. She can create offense for herself or others off the bounce, she has a nice jump-shot with some range, and she can sit down and defend with her quickness and physicality. She has really nice vision, and she’s just starting to see colleges line up again, as she has missed the past two grassroots seasons.
Highlights
Jalyn is an extremely long, wiry, fluid, and somewhat smooth wing. She is a talented multilevel scorer who can bury shots (with range) from the perimeter, or she can slice to the basket and finish inside. She can be used in a traditional shooting guard role, run off of screens, etc., or she can play more of a point forward role and distribute…she has that kind of ball skill. I haven’t seen her yet this Spring, as she wasn’t on her typical Indiana Elite Havoc team when I saw them previously.
Highlights
Addison serves Danville as what I would call a “typical” Indiana forward, she is a tough-nosed kid, hard-working, and very aggressive. If she does anything well, she outplays her size. She is a solid all-around athlete, she loves to operate in the mid-post, and she can score it from 15-feet, attack off the bounce, and battle bigger players inside for rebounds and put-backs. Defensively, she can take on wings or forwards. She is also a talented softball prospect.
Kila is a really nice small school kid who works hard and gets after it. She put together a strong Winter, averaging 17.3 points per game, plus she knocked down 67 3-pointers, and she shot an impressive 87% from the free throw line. She enjoys shooting the perimeter jumper, but she also has good ball skill and can use the dribble to attack the basket. I have not had the opportunity to see her since last Summer, so I am looking forward to doing so this Thursday.
Highlights
Alex has done a really nice job throughout high school of transitioning from a wing forward to more of a shooting guard position. She has continually worked on her handle, made her perimeter jumper more consistent, plus she has become a tough-nosed, versatile defender. She has played with the Indiana Elite Havoc program in the past, but I didn’t see her with them this Spring. I am looking forward to viewing her later this week.
Kahlen is somewhat of a hidden gem in Northwest Indiana. She is a nice athlete, she has very good length at her size, and she plays with a strong motor. She has been among the state’s leaders in steals each of the past two seasons, and she can act as a ball hawk, or she can jump passing lanes with her athleticism and length. She is an effective multilevel scorer who has improved her ability to make shots around the 3-point line. I am most curious to see her in this environment against the state’s most athletic guards.
Highlights
After helping Merrillville to a 17-9 season as a Freshman, Kylie missed most of her Sophomore year after injuring her knee, and the Pirates fell to 6-19. This year, she was back, and Merrillville was again 17-9. She is a strong, physical wing who loves to drive the basketball. She absorbs contact well, she can get through lane, and she can finish around the basket. Kylie has begun to add some touch outside as well, knocking down 28 3-pointers this past season. As that part of her game continues to grow, she will be very difficult to defend.
